4th Grade Reading Club

The 4th Grade Reading Club is comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers from First Presbyterian who work with 4th graders at Delavan Elementary on reading skills.  Many 4th graders at the elementary school read below their grade level and have difficulty reading, especially out loud. Volunteers work one on one with students listening to them read and reading out loud to them as well as help with vocabulary and comprehension.

Books on a variety of reading levels were purchased to bring to the school each week such as Encyclopedia Brown, Goosebumps, The Magic Tree House series, Captain Underpants, and American Girl books.

We meet on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 1:00 in the Delavan Elementary School library.
